| Blast
The most
common type of mine, blast mines, are buried no more than a few centimeters
deep and are detonated usually by someone stepping on them, exerting about
11-35 pounds (5-16kg) of pressure. They will destroy an object in close
proximity such as someone's foot or leg, which can lead to infection and
amputation.
